Sushi and not City
So after much tooing-and-froing yesterday evening it was decided that we will after all have a client meeting at 6pm tonight followed by a late dinner. Balls. The suggestion of an earlier meeting got the bums rush so no Ashton Gate for me later so I'll be relying on updates from mates who have still decided to go. Lets hope a few more make a late decision and get behind the boys tonight.
Oh and what are we eating for dinner this evening? Japanese. Well that will make a nice change, won't it?
Had a good day yesterday catching up with some old faces including meeting someone I'd never met before getting in touch through a mate asking me for advice on his plans to move with his job to the States. Embrace it and squeeze every last drop out of the opportunity I told him, you can always come home with your head held high because very few people a) get the chance and b) would do it.
The conversation made me realise that I have now been living in Chicago for 4 years. I went open minded, had a few early wobbles, planned to at least see out my visa which originally ran until July 2006 and am still there. For how long no one knows, I really do find it hard to plan ahead these days and try to live for the moment. I do try to be bit more astute than that financially but had to laugh at beauty
Gisele Bündchen recently refusing to be paid in dollars when working in the States promoting Pantene products for Proctor & Gamble, asking for euros instead. If only I could have done that when I first pitched up 4 years ago.
Anyway I'm off to Tesco in a minute to stock up on some Twinings English Breakfast, Marmite and Branston pickle. Do you think they'll take my worthless to the rest of the world dollars?
