Orlando Vroom
The fit half of my household ran 3 hours and 54 minutes this morning in the Walt Disney marathon. I managed to get to four points along the course that wrapped around Epcot, the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and the MGM studios. Crowds were out in force but unlike in Chicago where the runners trail through neighourhoods and busy roads, long stretches of the 26.2 mile race were down wide deserted streets unreachable to watchers due to the lack of public transport.
However fitter half of household enjoyed it and was quite emotional when she crossed the line to be met by Goofy 219th out of 6204 women.
It was inspirational to witness as always, perhaps not inspirational enough to get my 'arris into the gym to train for one but uplifting nevertheless. We spent the afternoon avoiding the rain and had lunch at Jimmy Buffet's themed restaurant
Margaritaville. Ask any American and Jimmy Buffet is a legend but to coin Richard Murray he is the most famous person in the world that no one has ever heard off.
