Georgia on my mind
Our last night in Georgia's state capital Atlanta, well
Buckhead to be more precise and back to Bermuda tomorrow. The Atlantan heat, reminiscent of walking behind a huge hair dryer, reminded me of Chicago summers. Atlanta is not Chicago but it has enough to pique the interest. We went on the cities only
Trolley bus tour today, and it only emphasised how spread out the city is, in fact it sprawls 134 miles and every bugger has a car attached to their arse. More on Atlanta when I get home.
Meanwhile back in Bermuda, Premier Ewart Brown has survived a motion of
no confidence following the backdoor arrival of the
four Guantánamo Bay Uighurs. The last time Bermuda had such worldwide media coverage was probably in the late 70's when there were race riots.
I heard that over 1,500 people
demonstrated peacefully against Ewart Brown's leadership on Friday at Parliament Hill in pouring rain. That must have startled the hords of American tourists off the cruise liners?
